For your jet-setting loved ones...

3 1/2 x 5" fold-over in Ivory on classic crest paper with victorian-cut, textured 80lb paper in Olive Green and luggage tag in Ivory. The green can be swapped for any color! "Bon voyage" written in navy blue pencil. Blank inside.

The foot locker was my grandfather's from WWII and my mother carried the beige train case when she embarked for her Québécois honeymoon and honeymoon part II-turned-1- year-stay in the glorious city of Madrid. I adore vintage luggage, especially when it is tucked away in my family's basement.

"The world is a book and those who do not travel only read one page."
-St. Augustine

Saint references are few and far between on my blog, but I quite fancy this quotation. (I have a thing for metaphors). Every trip I've taken, both domestically and abroad, has colored my life in nothing but delightfully mind-opening ways. Plus, I don't want to be caught having skimmed only a single page of a superbly reviewed and well-loved book.

As my departure for my first journey to South America draws near, I thought it appropriate to share a Bon Voyage card. A "safe travels!" squeal + hug combination is a welcome expectancy when leaving for a trip. When you attend a going away soirée, however, giving your loved ones this card is a thoughtfully simple way to bid them farewell and tell them they'll be missed and have friends eagerly awaiting their return. Your note might even be slipped into a suitcase as a last-minute travel companion and tangible token of home.

I'll leave you with another of my favorite quotations: "I travel a lot; I hate having my life disrupted by routine" (Caskie Stinnett).

*sigh* one day...
